It is ideally suited for both small scale applications such as Clubs and Societies, all the way up to major regional events listing services.
The whole application has been written under Macromedia UltraDev 4 and uses an Access database, so customisation is extremely quick and easy.
Features
- Written with UltraDev 4 and using Access 2000 database. ASP VBScript.
- Events can be found by date, keywords, categories and venues.
- Full event detail and even more detailed venue information links.
- Users may submit events for approval - venue is added automatically if in database, else added in the process.
- Selection is by pop up calendars and the date format dd-Mon-yyyy is used to ensure compatibility with various date formats.
- Automatic emails are generated when an event is submitted for approval and also when those details have been approved. The approval email also includes a dynamically generated link to allow the event to add their logo. The email function use CDONTS, the most common email system.
- Full Admin Panel - allows searching of all records, record amendment and deletion, category and county / state management. Includes deleting completed events.
- Logos or photos can be uploaded for each record. Images are stored in a dedicated directory, so avoiding storage within the database itself.
- Records can be added by any user or only the Administrator.
- Records can be displayed immediately or only after Administrator approval.
- All non-required fields only display on the records if there is data. This makes the detail pages much neater and more professional than other directories.
- Number of records found is indicated in the record navigation bar.
- Page layout is through include files, allowing for easy text and colour changes through Dreamweaver or UltraDev.
- Full installation and customisation instructions are included in the package.
